How to get better?

When I think about strategies for a better life, first of all I think about my efficiency and productivity.

Lately I have been developing the skill of deep focus. In the 21st century, we have almost lost this ability. Thanks to social networks and other modern technologies. Therefore, at this stage of my life I am working on awareness and being in the moment.

And awareness is a trend. But even though a lot of people read about it, few people actually begin to go in this direction. For most, this word has long been meaningless. American writer Tim Ferris defines "mindfulness" as being in a moment that makes you not a reactive, but a proactive person. If anyone is not familiar with these concepts yet, then I will tell you about them in future posts. Who can't wait, read the books of Stephen Covey.

This is a good definition of mindfulness, let's focus on it. Being non-reactive is critically important for developing the ability of deep focus in modern realities. After all, the incoming flow of information loads us without stopping, distracts us and takes away mental energy along with intellectual abilities.

The path to clarity.

The easiest way I know is meditation. For those who are not in the subject, it can simply be described as sitting, concentrating on breathing and letting the thoughts that arise pass by. But this is the initial level! Having comprehended that, you will already notice positive changes in your way of thinking, problem solving and goal setting. They will say "enlightened" about you, and some will even call you "the sun-eater".

But the task is not to force yourself not to think about anything. Concentrate your focus on breathing, feel the air filling and leaving your lungs. And when a random thought comes to your head (believe me, a whole cloud of them will come), remind yourself that you are watching your breathing, and return to oxygen observations. And even better, mentally "brush it off with a pen" or "wrap it in a bubble ", then throw it out of your head on exhalation. Everyone has their own secrets. These are mine.

Just as we are flooded with various information on the Internet and in real life, thoughts also act. We pay equal attention to them, ponder and analyze, which eventually leads to unconstructive thinking.

Meditation will allow you to look deeper into yourself and realize what is important. As you practice this skill, short moments of some clarity and insight will periodically come to you. Their frequency increases with experience. The main thing is that you will learn to slow down your mind, look inside yourself and, as promised, become more aware.

Neo, you are the chosen one.

That's how I started. I downloaded a meditation program to my phone, on the recommendation of the announcer, I took a more comfortable chair and sat on the edge with a straight back. He closed his eyes and began to count deep breaths to himself. 1 - inhale, 2 - exhale, and so on until ten. Then again. The bill will help you catch on to your breath like an anchor. If you get lost due to an influx of thoughts, start counting again. First do it for 10 minutes, then increase the time.

It doesn't seem to be difficult. But believe me, it's not easy for an unprepared person to sit and do nothing. Your pathetic attempt to relax will lead to excitement and violent brain activity in a couple of minutes. It's like we have a switch in our head that triggers if we're suddenly not busy. After all, initially the brain is aimed at solving problems.

And when there is nothing to solve, this lack of activity becomes the main problem.

Therefore, meditation, as it were, solves the problem of problems: it teaches us to "be". This is the most difficult thing we have to learn, how to be simple it did not sound.

"...it couldn't be simpler: we calm the mind and become more aware. "

In addition, meditation can be used as a refuge when things are bad. It's never too late to withdraw into yourself. But in order to do this with benefit, you will have to try. As with driving, you first need to drive a couple of times along the same path before you remember the way.

And if you don't practice, you'll forget. Therefore, consistency is important.

The main thing is to train and not break the chain. Without consistency, there will be no result. Please tell us in the comments about your attitude to meditation and experience, if you suddenly take up or have already practiced it. https://lucky-jet-win.ru
